Flu Season

It is officially here – flu season.  I have had a few people here and they’re showing up with the occasional flu bug.  But the real flu season begins about two weeks before Halloween with the first four bags of Halloween candy that you picked up at the store.  After all, the bags have been brightly displayed since the last week of September calling out to you to buy them.  The shopkeepers are not dumb.  They know those first four bags will dwindle down to just a bag and a half the day before Halloween and you will be back for more.

Flu season is the same thing as the sugar season.  It begins now and lasts until New Years day when we feel so bad we swear off all sugar for at least a couple weeks.

The amount of sugar in a piece of pie ala mode reduces the ability of your white blood cells to kill bacteria 80% for at least 5 hours.  What do you suppose snacking on those mini candy bars does to your white blood cells?   It seems that sugar looks a lot like vitamin C to blood cells and the cells need vitamin C to function.  Excess sugar in the blood pushes the vitamin C out and replaces it causing the white cells to stop functioning.  This is part of the reason extra vitamin C is helpful in preventing you from catching a cold or flu.  But if you do catch a flu bug, the C no longer is helpful.  Then you need extra vitamin A to stimulate the production and activation of more white cells.

While we are on the subject of vitamins, another factor helping to make this flu season is the lack of sunshine.  Vitamin D is actually not a vitamin at all, but a hormone – the hormone in charge of regulating our immune system.  As the days get shorter, we can no longer produce our own vitamin D from sunlight exposure.  The sunlight just is not strong enough anymore this time of the year.  So extra vitamin D is definitely called for right about now.  I suggest 4000 IU per day at least.  The old recommended level of 400 IU was recently discovered to be the result of a math error.  A decimal place got mistakenly dropped in the old calculations and we actually all need ten times what they have been telling us for the last fifty years.

Personally I have no faith in the flu vaccination as a protection against the flu.  There are over two hundred varieties of flu and each year’s vaccination only covers three or four of them.  Vaccine makers literally guess what flu bugs they think might be around in three years time and design their vaccine for that, because it takes three years to produce each vaccine.  Typically the effectiveness of the yearly vaccine is around 30%.  Two years ago it was only 16% effective, and last week it was announced that the children’s nasal flu vaccine FluMist was completely ineffective over the last several years.  Billions of dollars spent on worthless vaccinations?  I would rather spend my money building up my immune system so I don’t catch the flu in the first place.

Ahh, but what if we are unlucky and we do catch a bug?  What can we do then?  My old standby the moment I feel a scratchy throat or that achy tired feeling is to grab my colloidal silver.  I start taking a couple ounces every hour until the symptoms vanish.  Most times the bug never has a chance to get really started as the colloidal silver knocks it out the same day.  If you are buying your colloidal silver online, this protocol is a little pricey as a pint of colloidal silver generally goes for $40 or more.

Fortunately I own my own commercial colloidal silver generator and make a 5 ppm colloidal silver for patients for only $30 a gallon.

The key to good quality colloidal silver is how small the silver ion clusters in the colloid are.  Ideally a perfect colloid would only have single atom silver ions in it.  Realistically good clinical results occur when the silver ion clusters are only 3 to 5 silver atoms in size.  Some products are made from veritable chunks of silver floating around thousands of atoms in size.  To make the really top quality colloidal silver, you need to make it electronically with equipment that constantly feeds back the electrical current level to constantly decrease it as the batch progresses.  High current rips big chunks of silver out of your silver electrode and the current continually increases as the sliver in the water makes the water more electrically conductive.  A commercial unit that constantly reads the current and decreases the voltage to compensate produces the best colloidal silver.  This takes time – mine takes about 15 hours for each gallon.  Unregulated units can make a batch of poor quality silver in minutes.

Silver has been used for hundreds of years because it does a wonderful job of killing so many different bacteria and viruses.  Many hospitals are now incorporating silver in surgery rooms and places where germ contact is high, since none of the antibacterial agents they have used forever are working anymore.  Fortunately there is no way for the bacteria to become resistant to the mechanism by which silver kills them (at least so I have read.)

Silver is not to prevent you from getting the flu, so don’t take it like a vitamin.  There is no need for silver in the body, but it is well tolerated nonetheless.  Some people have expressed their concern that their skin will turn blue from the silver, but this is not a concern with quality colloidal silver, but rather is the consequence of consuming hundreds of gallons of poor quality colloidal silver and producing silver salts in the body as a result.

A new product we just got in the office for getting rid of a flu is called Viracid.  It is an herbal complex that has tested up as stronger than the main medical intervention Tamaflu.  In fact this company insists that this product will get rid of a flu in 48 hours.  It comes in a ten-dose blister pack.  You take one tablet every hour for ten hours then let it do its work.  Two patients have used it so far for the flu and both reported that it did get rid of the flu within 48 hours.  You want to start taking Viracid as soon as you feel the flu coming on, so have a blister pack in your medicine cabinet for whenever you need it.  They are only $10 a pack.

Your best choice is to be strong and healthy so you have a strong immune system to keep bugs and viruses away.  You can support this by taking your vitamin C and D and avoiding all that sugar.  Taking the C and D is easy enough, but I know that not all that sugar can be avoided, so the next best thing is to make sure that you give your body at least 24 hours to rebuild after any sugar exposure before you expose yourself again.  The real killer is snacking on sugar and simple carbs all day long.  I suggest eating a maximum of just one dessert any time of the day and leaving time in between for the body to recover.
