Mind Body Connections – pt.2

Muscle Brain – pt.2

Most ill health begins as unconscious feeling conflicts, repression, and unresolved tensions.  Since they are unconscious you do not feel them.  They probably were conscious at one time, but when you encountered the conflict you did not have a resolution at that time so you shoved the feeling tension to the back of your mind and forgot it.  The back of the mind is literally and physically the unconscious motor control area of your brain.  Every unresolved feeling you have ever had is stuck somewhere back there in the back of your brain affecting your unconscious muscle function.  Events and experiences in your current life will trigger these old conflict patterns to rise up to the subconscious level where they start weakening and unbalancing your muscles and organs.

So now the importance of unconscious unresolved feelings starts to become clear.  80% of your ill health is tied to these unresolved feelings through their actions on your unconscious muscles.  We blindly totter along pretending that if we can’t feel them, then they must not really exist.  Well you can’t see or feel nuclear radiation but it will still kill you.  You can’t see or feel Ebola virus until it is too late.  You don’t see or feel most of the things that kill people, but you know they are there by the effects they have on the body.  The same is true here for repressed feeling conflicts.

So what is really happening in your brain when there are feeling conflicts?  Different parts of your brain are responsible for different things.  Your left frontal brain is for focused, literal, straight-line goal focused needs.  On the other hand your right brain takes in the big picture and puts things into a feeling connection context.  Your hind brain holds your fight-flight-feed survival programming, while your mid brain is all about social and family bonding and group goals.  In an ideal world life would present you with simple situations that only require input from one brain area – it makes its choices and you act on those choices.  But the real world we live in is not simple.  Multiple brain areas try to take responsibility for our action response to life and their drives and motivations are often in direct conflict with each other.  When this happens the brain creates conflict, which we feel as a bad feeling.  This bad feeling not only hit us emotionally, but sends confusing and conflicting messages to our muscles causing tension and pain.

What are some examples of these conflicts?  Wanting to be taken care of but also wanting control.  Wanting love but not wanting to risk letting out your feelings.  Wanting power and safety at the same time.  Wanting to be the center of attention but not wanting to be judged.  Wanting your way from other people.  Wanting to be free but wanting to be protected and safe at the same time. Wanting to move to the country but not wanting to leave the city.  Wanting your child to grow up but wanting them to copy your way of doing things.  Wanting to turn left but wondering what was down the lane to the right.  Anything can be a conflict.  Unresolved feelings run rampant within us.

What can we do?  The alternative health field has developed many methods for producing relaxation when these tensions pop up.  Specialized therapists of several disciplines work with discovering the unresolved and trapped feelings.  Counselors and Somatic therapists work in these areas to release these feelings in hopes of producing a healing response.

At Fair Oaks Healing Arts we take a different approach.  My view is that a feeling conflict is simply the result of a lack of skills – the skills that build the necessary feeling relationship to life to resolve the conflict.  Generally this is because of a lack of maturity, meaning a lack of the proper models and personal experiences necessary to conceive of how to resolve these conflicts.  It takes a lifetime of successful trial and error to figure out what works and what does not work.  This lifetime of successful trial and error creates what we call maturity and wisdom.  Fortunately we all face pretty much the same feeling challenges, so it is not necessary for each of us to trudge our way through every experience ourselves.  We can learn from the mistakes and achievements of others.   There is simple information about how life works that can help us immensely.  This is not head knowledge, but experiential knowledge.  If someone can put us on the right track up front, then we can cut out 90% of the trial and error and go straight to the experiential learning.

The first step is to let go of our old way of seeing things and open to a new way.  For this I have created Gracework IGH.  IGH stands for Into God’s Hands.  This is a “laying on of hands” healing technique much like the healing performed in revival tents and churches all over the world, but without the fanfare and sermon.  When you are willing to “Let go of what is not working in your life and let God show you a new way” amazing things happen.  Often we already have within us all the answers we need, but we don’t have the ability to use them because we are stuck with our habitual old way of doing things.  Gracework IGH gives you the space for this release to happen easily.

The next step when necessary is to provide your nervous system with the information and model necessary to resolve the old conflicts on a subconscious level as well as the tools to practice this new information to turn it into experiential knowing.   This involves bypassing the conscious mind filters and loading these feeling relationships and flow patterns directly into the body – mind.  This is achieved both energetically and through the use of synchronic sound training technology.  Original Gracework provides the energetic shift and brain retraining exercises to help you make the growth into maturity with ease and a minimum of the old trial and error.  My next project is to create the synchronic sound scripts and CDs to enable those not able to come into the office for Gracework to enjoy the benefits of this easy and fast way to grow into a better and more effective life.

For the really stubborn ego attached old patterns we have the granddaddy change process – Heartflow.  This one-on-one therapeutic environment uses muscle testing of your body to find the roots of your false beliefs and what is necessary to bring about an easy natural change.  Its basic principle is that growth occurs through moving toward what your heart is attracted to.  Every path is different and every person unique, so your growth and healing must also be unique.
